शहीर आलम मेमोरियल फाउंडेशन : एक परिचय
शहीर आलम मेमोरियल फाउंडेशन की स्थापना वर्ष 1994 में की गई थी। इसका कार्यालय धर्मशाला बाजार, गोरखपुर स्थित आफाक बिल्डिंग में स्थापित किया गया है। जैसा कि नाम से ही स्पष्ट है, इसका गठन गोरखपुर के एक सत्यनिष्ठ नागरिक तथा लोकसेवा समर्पित स्वर्गीय श्री शहीर आलम (1923–1987) की स्मृति को शाश्वत बनाए रखने के उद्देश्य से किया गया था। फाउंडेशन उद्देश्यों में राष्ट्रीय एकता और अखंडता, सामाजिक समरसता एवं विश्व बंधुत्व के आदर्शों को बनाए रखने तथा इनकी अभिवृद्धि के लिए कार्य करना प्रमुख है, जिनके लिए शहीर आलम ने अपने जीवनकाल में निरंतर कार्य किया था।
इसके अतिरिक्त यह संस्था गोरखपुर परिक्षेत्र के सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक परिवेश में योगदान कर युवाओं, साहित्यकारों, वैज्ञानिकों, पत्रकारों तथा समाज के निर्बल वर्गों के उत्थान के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। इस दिशा में फाउंडेशन शिक्षा एवं प्रशिक्षण के क्षेत्रों में कार्यकर एवं बौद्धिक गोष्ठियों तथा आयोजनों के माध्यम से अपने उद्देश्यों की प्राप्ति के लिए कार्य करती है।
The Shaheer Alam Memorial Foundation was established in 1994, with its office located in Aafaq Building, Dharamshala Bazar, Gorakhpur. As the name suggests, the Foundation was created to preserve the legacy of the late Mr. Shaheer Alam (1923–1987), a respected citizen of Gorakhpur who dedicated his life to public service. The Foundation works to promote the ideals of national unity, social harmony, and universal brotherhood—values that Mr. Shaheer Alam upheld throughout his life.
In addition, the Foundation is committed to contributing to the social and cultural development of the Gorakhpur region by supporting young people, writers, scientists, journalists, and underprivileged communities. As part of this mission, the Foundation actively promotes primary education, along with education and skill development initiatives. It also organizes intellectual seminars, educational programs, and community events to achieve its objectives and create a positive impact on society.
